Those are old buildings, generally not hit by bombs in the war, those are the original terracotta tiles (firing up the clay in the region would result in that color). Generally here in Vienna all older buildings roof tiles are red, most newer ones as well, or they're a gray. Same reason most bricks are/used to be red.Is there a rule that all the roofs must be red?
