A 90-year-old woman died after becoming infected with two different strains of Covid-19. She lived alone, receiving nursing care at home, and hadn’t been vaccinated.

Though at that age it’s quite likely she would have died from infection with one strain or even influenza…

I think you are missing the point

No, vaccination protects against all current variants, having a mutated or multi variants would still see protection, secondly, being 90 would mean even a mild viral infection could be deadly.

That makes an unvaccinated 90 year old dying while infected with one, two or ten variants a non-story.

No, you silly sausage. Belgium is already one of the best places in the world for chocolate, now they want this title too.

My aunt said in Portugal the older people were vaccinated last.

The over-50s will start to be vaccinated first; a week later jabs will start to be given to the over-40s, and one week later the over-30s.

The objective, according to reports, is to take advantage of Johnson & Johnson's vaccines for the over-50s, and use Pfizer and Moderna for other age groups.

Sounds like BS

Either

(a) your aunt is talking shit
or
(b) the communication was over your broken radio and you didn’t translate it properly

In the first phase, 400,000 people over 50 years of age with heart failure, coronary heart disease, kidney failure or respiratory disease are vaccinated. Also, part of this initial phase are 250,000 professionals and residents of nursing homes and long-term care units, as well as 300,000 health professionals, the armed forces, security forces and critical services.

In the second phase, 1.8 million people over 65 (with or without pathologies) and 900,000 people aged between 50 and 64 with diabetes, active malignant neoplasia, chronic kidney disease, liver failure, obesity or hypertension will be vaccinated.

The third phase includes the remaining population living in Portugal, with a third and fourth priority groups still to be concluded. An expansion of vaccination sites is planned in this phase.

My neighbours aged 70 both had Covid 6 months ago and were very ill. After ten days they started taking Ivermectin and recovered (who knows if it was a factor). The husband wants to get the vaccine but the wife doesn't as she had cancer before (her reasoning, no logic there). So there is the vaccine hesitancy factor.

There seems to be a lot of vaccine hestitancy in Her*anus for white over 50 people. Annecdotally based on my housemate that actually has contact with people, unlike me.

Ok, she's got Alzheimers so doesn't mean to get things wrong sometimes. She's been vaccinated so covid is now the least of her worries.
