I dunno - if I put a lot of work into a beer and then I don't drink it, I feel like I have deprived myself. But, if it works at the club, and is well received, then I may consider justifying a more expensive brew acquisition. But that will take some time before that happens.

Ja - run into the ground by a former associate let's just say. Now we're trying to keep it alive for now and perhaps restart once we get a permanent venue. I have some options on the East but they may require some unsavoury cooperations, if you get my drift.

I take no issue with that. But when the proprietors end up in a hole because they have extended their credit with dealers (and, in turn, their networks) then you have a recipe for disaster. My East Rand contemporary is not that way inclined though. He is, however, someone with whom you do not fuck. I have a good relationship with him but my partner does not and said partner has a way of pissing just about anyone off. And if he pisses of Mr East Rand, then the consequences will be remarkably unfortunate. If, however, he maintains his cool then the rewards for all of us could be quite something.

Not really. There is an undertone but nothing like the shit that you okes went through. And even if we did, our crowd is really not big enough to warrant any kind of extortion. While the mainstream places compete for customers and cater with a wider range of music, we're specialised enough to lack aggressive competition. Everyone that caters to our crowd more or less gets along. Put simply, I have a good working relationship with potential competitors - we cooperate and try to avoid messing with one another's big events.
