I’ve just grabbed The Young Team by Graeme Armstrong which is getting a lot of good press in Scotland. It’s written in the same style as Trainspotting, i.e. a mixture of English and street Scots and may be difficult to pick up, but I’m told it’s going to have the same impact as Trainspotting did in popular Scottish culture.
I'm busy reading the critically acclaimed historical tome The Seed is Mine by Charles van Onselen. It is impressive, and at times so well written, but it is a slog! Perhaps it should come with a warning: Not for the faint-hearted! I obviously belong in the this category.
