Now that the public is being properly informed of this stuff, I imagine we'll start to see many more reports such as this...Insane. I would love someone to explain to me how this ideology is a good one for society when it is creating groups of people who are starting to do this to each other. RIP any sort of race relations in the USA if this carries on.
Racist middle class white leftist housewife whitesplaining to successful black man /shockedThis is your brain on CRT:
Fun fact, study in the UK found that women generally earned more than their male counterparts for the same job if experience was equalized. This is your brain on CRT:
Yup. And exactly the same kind of equity math stupidity is applied to race via CRT in order to demonstrate 'white privilege'.Fun fact, study in the UK found that women generally earned more than their male counterparts for the same job if experience was equalized.
The issue is more that once women hit 30's, they usually have either jobs that have better work hours or work/life balance or that they cut down in hours worked.
Will be very interesting in the US, since now even the workforce has more college educated women than men: https://www.npr.org/2019/06/20/7344...ke-up-majority-of-u-s-labor-f?t=1625140188143
Choice of career is so important in that pay gap, that it's such a stupid argument overall.
I know for a fact that a female software dev I know started at a 30% higher salary than I did due to being female, if wanting to enter a software college degree, the entry requirements are way lower, etc., the gender pay gap is such a stupid argument due to data just lacking in regards to all of that.

Covering the push to ban critical race theory in schools: 4 tips for journalists
Two scholars offer tips to help journalists report on Republican policymakers' push to ban critical race theory from U.S. public schools.journalistsresource.org
While there are some similarities between CRT and antiracist education, they are different, George says. Antiracist education, among other things, “addresses how racist beliefs and ideologies structure one-on-one interactions and personal relationships,” according to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which offers resources to help guide educators, parents and others in conversations about race. “It also examines and challenges how institutions support and maintain disadvantages and advantages along racial lines.”
Journalists also should include sources’ responses to questions about word choice in their coverage.
“CRT asks, ‘Why isn’t everyone getting equal justice?’” Len-Ríos says. “How can it be un-American to strive for equality?”
Seems like someone who'd have a tear stained mattress in the back of a windowless van
In May, my district’s school board courageously approved the teaching of the text All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely to high school sophomores. This book challenges white privilege and takes on racial oppression. It is a story told from multiple points of view about police brutality. At the book’s core lies the essence of social-justice curriculum. This bold move speaks volumes about the trust my district has in my teaching and the district’s commitment to critical literacy.
Hmm, I guess I misunderstood the gist of 'no stress'.You can start a serious thread if you like, this is the not so serious thread.
This move by the teacher's union has undeniably put CRT at the forefront of the political faultlines in the culture war. The DNC will have to back the play of this union because CRT grew out of the same environment as all the other woke talking points that the left wing has become known for, and if CRT goes down, it *ALL* goes down.
So the entire Dem media machine is going to try to prop this up, and as can be seen from the polls, it's going to fail, dramatically. And not only that, but ground zero of this battle is indeed in education, and that means this just became a battle over the values that children will be indoctrinated with insofar as education cannot help but indoctrinate children with values.
This time the usual routine of demonising the political right as 'low-information' and so forth isn't going to work. CRT is about as academically defensible as Hubbard's Scientology.
... No?Shit for you, are you going to send your kids to a private school now?
Don't we already have a CRT thread? Can I move these?... No?
The way this plays out is that public schools will be devoid of CRT or any CRT-related material. My condolences to you on your loss in the culture war.
Yes, but I made a post specifically about how CRT is going to play a major role in upcoming elections, citing one piece of major news released by a teacher's union (the biggest in the US), and one poll which shows the demographic support for this stuff. I don't care to discuss the merits of CRT here (that can go to the other thread), but the impact of CRT upon the election cycle isn't really discussing CRT as such.Don't we already have a CRT thread?
