I saw Telkom on the scene this afternoon when I picked my kid up from school.

I prefer staying healthy
It's not uncommon for me to get in the car with a packet/container with frozen blueberries, nuts or mix there of.
And for those days that I'm running into shit due to time, I keep a plant based protein powder (no lactose, no soya either as that seems to not quite agree with me and it tastes awful). It doesn't contain any of the weight loss or other supplements. I do try keep that down to a minimum, but sometimes you need to prepare and eat in under a minute coz you need to leave to get somewhere.
I can feel if I don't eat enough protein. Thank goodness I enjoy meat, I somehow think this would be very difficult, though not impossible for vegetarians. Vegans would have to live off protein powder. I eat 25 eggs (mostly just the whites, the dogs enjoy most of the yolks).
I do exercises and walking 6 days a week. Also generally very active in my 18-19 hr days.
Talking about berries! Raspberries and black berries today. All 100g of frozen goodness incoming!!!
We use to have our previous one in a plastic kennel. Protected it from the rain and was a shit ton cheaper than the "made for generator covers.
The current generator is just a little too big, so for that we got a plastic/canvas cover for rain/sun. Would have preferred a kennel as it's not obvious that there is a generator. In Joburg they even steal the fucking solar panels off the roof. For a while now there have been sensors that can link up to your alarm, at a cost of course.
In Joburg Telkom would have sent out letters to everyone "we regret to inform you that the Telkom infrastructure servicing your area has been damaged. We no longer replace these systems, should you wish we could move your number to Telkom mobile, please see available hand sets. Then attached are hand sets that make to first chunky mobiles lok like sleek supermodels. Like really???? What about businesses with switchboards??

Yeah you see in that area are a few FTTH/FTTB resisters, but the problem is further up that piece of road they've turned the pavement into an informal taxi rank and ripped out all of Octotel and Frogfoot's infrastructure so now some are forced to use ADSL

They would still get told to convert to mobile.
No consideration for size of companies etc.

I am very thankful I have no dealings with Telskommel. Glad those days are over.
That's not to say that FTTH is perfect either.
That's not to say that FTTH is perfect either.

well I did fuck up bad but lucky she listened to what I said instead of looking at the calendar invite!
our interview process is 2 fold.
coffee date where we get to know the candidate and talk culture and ask all the silly career questions to see if they can talk the talk and if they would fit in with the team.
if we think they will fit in we arrange a day at King Price. its a half day where the candidate spends time with the team members sees an average day and gets to ask questions to people. along with this is a skills assessment. because some people google a few key words before the coffee date and then manage to sound like they know what are talking about but then when push comes to shove they can't write a basic select statement.
so the candidate we are seeing now is due for her Day at KP tomorrow. this was discussed in email and in person, we agreed on Wednesday.
however, I am a fucking idiot with ADHD who does not pay attention and I somehow managed to send the invite for TODAY instead of tomorrows.
lucky she put in her leave for tomorrows and was ready for tomorrows and not today so when I called her she said she did see it but went with what we discussed because we told her she needs to meet the team and the team is in on Wednesdays.
so no need to panic she is coming when she is meant to. I am just dumb.
this poor chick. I set the coffee date interview time and I double booked myself.
I sent the wrong date for the day at KP.
what next i mess up her start date on documentation? (I like her and I think she will be a good fit. she just needs to show good problem solving in the test and not have big personality clashes with the team and she is in)

But yeah, understand your selection/interview process. It's the exception, rather than the norm but where I am a candidate now, they did the same thing so it's nice that times are changing
