CAPE TOWN FLOODS: DAMAGE AT Monkey Town
"This storm caused loads of damage at Monkey Town.
The roof of our public bathrooms in our braai/picnic area went flying about just after midnight.
We have a HUGE tree that fell, on top of our chimpanzee viewing deck. The roof of the viewing deck is on the floor and the structure damaged.
We are sure the chimps got a huge fright when the tree fell - they were kept inside their sleeping enclosure for the night as a precaution
The braai/picnic area is severely flooded.

We appreciate the messages of support and understanding while we do the best we can post the storm with our cleanup. We are not sure yet when we will be able to open but know we are doing all we can to not delay this.
Chapman's Peak Drive
We are well on our way having cleared most of the landslides. Fortunately, only minor damage has occurred and as the last of the clean-up takes place we are hoping to open the road by the end of next week.
The bulk of the debris has been removed and placed in sections to help create ease of access. Where there are still sections of the road unsafe due to seepage we have to channel water to ensure the road is dry and safe to use again.
