Cats have remained cats since at least Egyptian times. Since then humanity has evolved to create technology never before seen in this world.

How, then is it, that cats know what a laptop is, and how to sit on the keyboard?

Cats aren't dumb.
How is it that they know what's coming when you mention the word "vet"
My black and white buffoon knows what "time for a bath" means. Just mention the phrase and he makes tracks...
The calico knows when we want her to go outside to do her business... the looks we get from her say it all

My tuxedo cat as we found out last night, goes apeshit for anchovies.
I ended up sharing a portion of my pizza from Bossa, with my black and white fur child
And I got a gift to say "thank you"
A nice, fat roach dropped in front of my bed. Urgh!

I have 2 rescue cats, both now about 7 months old. I got them at 4 months old. It's been something of a struggle to socialise them. This is "Moonlight". He's cool with me but not my kids. His sister "Spot-Dot" (both named by children) is totally paranoid about humans, especially in the 6 to 8 year range.

I'm using cat treats to bribe them into accepting me, and then I'll try sardines to get them to accept the kids.

My vet told me sardines are basically crack to cats.

I hope so because I do not want any leftover sardines in the house. I don't eat them myself, too many bones, eyes and entrails. One of the few things I won't eat. I went to Portugal, to Lisbon, and of all the wonderful seafood there.... I could not manage a sardine.
