Yes, I have a SkyProdigy 130 that I hardly ever use.
An 11" scope sounds like a lot of effort. I doubt I'll ever top my accidental sighting of the ISS so I mostly just use my eyes these days.
This was taken with an 11" in a desert. Sure a 8" will be fine to start with, but this is where I'd like to end up at least:Size queen.
For most, 8" is sufficient

No I'm not assuming I will get sick. But that was certainly not a good thing to happen...Oh I remember. So you assume you'll get ill? If not by Thu/Friday you should be fine
You can start Astrophotography with little more than a dslr and a tripodDo you have a telescope? I'm keen to get into this but it's like R30k-R40k for an 8" and it seems you really need an 11".
Don't expect anything like that without at least R100 000 investment easily. This was taken with an 11" in a desert. Sure a 8" will be fine to start with, but this is where I'd like to end up at least:

Not like @Sinbad who gets top of the range for his Huawei promotion.
UghYou want to end up in the Andromeda galaxy? It's a bit far away, you know?

I realise the investment goes up quickly. But an 8" seems like the sweet spot to start.Don't expect anything like that without at least R100 000 investment easily.
Besides Andromeda never really rising high enough for us anyway.

Understand that you'll never see colour on deep-space objects with your eyes. Grey-scale only.I realise the investment goes up quickly. But an 8" seems like the sweet spot to start.
I don't even know what's visible this side, never really been interested in it. But some expensive gear will get me into it...
Yeah, I'd rather not start cheap. So will wait till I can do it properly.Understand that you'll never see colour on deep-space objects with your eyes. Grey-scale only.
The colour images you see are multiple photos that have been stacked, so you need an equatorial mount. A good one.
Costs rack up quickly.
