Hear my business partner had to queue four hours to vote today. Somewhere in or near Obs.
Voted around 9am. Congenial atmosphere as usual. Friendly policeman on duty. Between him and party representatives, they made certain that older people got priority treatment. In for another wrm day.

In other news...

My brother and mother took a look at the size of the queue outside the Nutting Badminton Hall and opted to return in the afternoon.

It took at least fifteen minutes (maybe twenty) from leaving home to getting back home from voting. I walked in and was second at the table to mark off the voters roll, got my thumb painted, made my marks and left. Couldn’t have been smoother.

Home internet back up after a week of being down.
Fucking stupid ISP doesn't know what they are doing. (Transferred with same ISP from Century City to Shelley Point)

I have been on the line with them (Home-Connect) every day since last Tuesday and Zoom (fibre provider) a few times.
Plug this in there and which lights are working (over and over)
Turns out that the Home-Connect router should not be connected to the Zoom fibre box (after them telling me to plug it in there).

The election results are amazing, so many interesting combos. I see three main possibilities (classification):
1. ANC DA IFP (stable)
2. ANC MK EFF (radical)
3. Everyone vs the ANC (crazy but cool)

It scarcely feels real.

If option 1 happens, so much for Mr Steenhuisen saying that the DA would not ally itself with the ANC.

If you aren't concerned with looks you can just get a bunch of Asus AI Mesh enabled routers. I ran cables to all the areas I wanted to put a point but they manage the mesh over WiFi as well.

Can’t comment on those but seems around R3,000 is the sweet spot for a mesh product that actually works reliably. They get more expensive really quickly from there. Avoid products under R2,000 (for a set of three).

I’ve used some TP-Link products over the years and my feeling is they are ok but not great.
