When I was still a boy, I imagined that under the safe in a cupboard in my grandmother's room was a tunnel that lead to a cave set in a cliff overlooking Nahoon Beach.
Would have been awesome if that was true

Nice memories I'm sure, my mother read a lot to us and one of the books that really stood out for me was "The Secret Garden." I had many daydreams of finding a wonderfully kept garden hidden from others.

Perhaps deep within a forest in a clearing near an an empty, yet well-kept mansion.... :)

My mother also read to us. She would give each character a different voice.

Amazing the effort they put in.
She would read a chapter each night to each of us without fail. "The Magic Faraway Tree", "The Stream That Stood Still", Greek mythology, Tolkien... many more.

I tried with my children but both of them only wanted short stories, was a bit disappointed.
