Stage 6 loadshedding will be implemented from 12:00 until further notice. This is due to a high number of breakdowns since midnight, as well as the requirement to strictly preserve the remaining emergency generation reserves. Eskom will publish a full statement in due course.

There is one part still to come then they deliver the whole order. But the installers are going on xmas leave when it comes so only early Jan.

We are in the middle of a double load shedding shift, one slot was 16:00 to 18:30 and then the other slot 18:00 to 20:30.
True as fuck theses idiots turned us back on at 18:07 and now off again at 18:23.
Just enough time for the generator to do it's 5 min wait and 3 min cool down and shutoff.

Summary:
7-12 months, add 8MW to the grid, 32MWh of storage, trial run for phase 199 MW / 833 MWh of capacity, both are 4 hours. First 8MW piece includes 2MW of solar PV install, funded by world bank, african dev bank, and new dev bank.
Second phase is 144MW output, 616 MWh of storage, will be distributed in 4 places, 58 MW solar PV.
Overall capacity will be 1 440MWh per day (~345MW peak output), 60MW solar PV, total cost R11bn.
Overall good pricing tbh, R32m / MW output or R8m / MWh. Will be interesting to see what the real cost will be.

Power was supposed to go off at 2pm and still on. Ffs they screw us around, I had to go to MTN and didn't go expecting power to be off. They don't have backup power at that branch.
