I tested hubby's O2 stats and they were between 41 and 48. I have called an ambulance. He said he heard a crinkling sound - and then I knew it was urgent.

Update - the ambulance has left for the hospital. I have to wait till morning as there are lots of roadblocks they said.

I am not allowed to visit - and I am not surprised. He is in casualty but will be moved to highcare as soon as a bed is available. His oxygen level are now at 87% so he is much improved. They were 41% when I called the ambulance.

So some advice - just because they can breathe, doesn't mean they are getting oxygen. And don't assume that when they are tired and weak that it is just part of the disease as people tell you. If it goes on for more than a day - there is something else wrong.

Strongs.

Which machine do you have. I got one six months ago from Takealot but it worked so poorly I returned it.

Sorry I missed this earlier. Glad to hear he's doing a bit better now, I hope he gets well soon.

Update:
He is in highcare. Had a machine on his face and has to lie down on his stomach. They continue to run tests. Treatment could take up to 10 days. Medical aid has approved 5. I will pay for the rest. No issue. He phoned when they allowed him to sit up for breakfast. He sounded like he had run a marathon - could barely get the words out. He was told recovery can take weeks. I feel so for him - this is really not something you want to get. Ever!!! He never showed that there was an issue with his lungs when he was at home. Tiredness, headaches, sore throat and later weakness were his main symptoms. We thought the diarrhea was from the vitamins. It wasn't.

Take care of yourselves and do take this thing seriously. My brother and sister-in-law are on day 30. Still coughing badly, backache and headaches. Weakness and extreme tiredness too. He is my little brother.
