Problem solved but had to cut short my visit to the hospital to see my housemate after her neck op.

Thank goodness for a hospital plan, op was nearly R50k and our payment was R5k. Will try to claim from gap cover but I only added her a month ago and there is a wait period, so not likely they will pay.

Been meaning to remove that bit of glue/paint but it has become part of the background, hidden below the fireplace.

The crack is an expansion crack, what do you fill it with so it doesn’t crack again?

Stickers were places there by previous owners. I have huge expansive windows on the stoep, some idiot could have wondered into it I guess. Luckily I leave the windows dirty for long periods so there is no mistaking it is there.
