No, this chat (like crypto coins) is vapourware because if the person controlling the server hits the off button it will cease to exist completely.
If Bio flicks the switch all you're going to get when you try and navigate here is an error 404.
None of the crypto fans have answered this question yet, if your $1,000 crypto suddenly disappears from the net, who are you going to sue?
I know if my £££’s suddenly disappear from my bank account that my bank and I will likely soon have an appointment in court (if the ombudsman doesn’t order their return even before that). Even if my bank was to go bust, I’ll still get my money back, can you say the same for your crypto?
No? That’s because your crypto is just a giant ponzi of 1’s and 0’s sitting in all sorts of dark places on the net...
It can’t disappear hence you’ll never need to sue anyone.
Did you miss the part about it being distributed? You’d literally need to turn off every single node across the world.
In a similar way (but not by it’s base design) if the plug is pulled on this forum it doesn’t disappear as it still lives on in archives of the internet.
Your bank going bust logic doesn’t apply here as it’s not the same thing and doesn’t have the same points of failure.
There’s also no guarantee that if your bank goes bust you get anything. One would hope so for sure, but it’s not guaranteed.
But here’s the interesting question to you since you are stuck on banks. If your very own bank offers you a crypto currency account tomorrow will you suddenly consider it legitimate or still call it a scam?
And if you still consider it a scam will you leave said bank?
All the big banks are getting on this wagon. I mean Standard Bank basically has their own crypto network now.
