- My Dad's best friend since high school is in critical condition with Covid and probably won't pull through. Less than 1% chance, his wife has been told.
- Several people in my granny's retirement home have died of Covid, including the woman across the road and that woman's husband.
- One of my recent client's daughter's husband died of Covid. Their family is too distraught to have anything to do with website stuff so we've postponed its launch.
- My domestic's 22 year old daughter died of Covid. No known comorbidities.
- My dad's fiance is a radiographer. She says the number of deaths in the medical community at St Georges in PE has loads of medical workers staying home or quitting their jobs. She got Covid a while back and still can't smell anything, 2+ months later.

This is really terrible, and there are people who still think it is the government trying to take our freedom away

Does seem like it, will be be following the UK who went back into full lockdown?

Wife just dashed out to stock up on pods for her twisp just to be safe.

Brother's daughter is positive. But he let her visit friends and go to parties so I don't have a lot of sympathy.

The tobacco case going on appeal has really mixed things up. I am no legal expert but I am pretty sure the judgement hits pause whilst there is an appeal active.
@GreGorGy what are your thoughts?
I have stock for until March but do think I should go shopping tomorrow morning.

Can you believe it, just heard on 567 that the government is going to call in the army to patrol the beaches to make sure people aren't visiting them.

The frikken army! They wouldn't use the army for crime or gangs (until it reached ridiculous levels) or anything but people using the beach then bring on the frikken army.

It's strange to me that those who are diagnosed with Covid, in spite of all the available information on how to avoid contracting it and the draconian lockdown regulations, are considered victims. Even stranger, an overwhelming number of those who've died or badly suffered due to Covid-related complications, knew (or had to know) that they were at risk, yet they still went out and got infected.

The numbers today are higher than ever, in spite of everything published and MSM talking about it 90% of the time. How can they still be victims?

Am I missing something?

I don’t know if any of you use the app, but I got a notification today that I was in proximity to someone on the 29th who has tested positive.

I've been running the app for ages. No notifications so far. Does it give a location and time?

No. It just says the date, 29th December. My youngest sons birthday and we went to a couple of shops together to get him some birthday treats.

We were fully masked up and I’m pretty careful with sanitising and not touching my face etc. Can’t recall any direct contact with anyone.

  • By Wednesday, 844 more people died of Covid-19 in what Health Minister Zweli Mkhize called a "grim milestone".
  • A total of 21 832 new cases were also reported since the last update.
