Coal smokes, anthracite doesn't. Strictly speaking you're not supposed to burn coal in a built-up area.

My old Morsona, vintage +/- 1930. Was burning anthracite when I could still get the stuff, but now only wood.
Picked it up for a song 20 years ago at a second-hand shop in Knysna. One of the best things I've ever bought, and has kept us all warm every winter all that time.

Dammit, wind blew out a panel of my greenhouse. Can't find it anywhere.

Found it. Was nearly impossible to see as it's transparent, you only see it from a certain angle. Glad I found it, wasn't in the mood to cut hardboard to close the gaping hole temporarily.

The rest of the world tends to use the metric system. Noone knows what 92F means.
Its easy 60 cold 75 comfortable 90 hot
The folks here are too dumb to have more than 3 choices .... thats why 80% of their universities are made up of foreign students

Jir, the wind is even worse, this morning. Driving to work was scary, felt like the wind is going to pick up my car. Luckily I didn't take the bike, otherwise I would've been a gonner.
Fuck me, didn't think it would be worst, yet again. My one dogs's house, very heavy, got blown to the other side of my property. Luckily I decided last night to invite them inside for some R&R for the night.
3am this morning I decided to go inspect the perimeter to check if everything is still good, found the wind pushing my bike almost upright a few times, had to go out in the rain and wind to push it into the garage. My street has changed into a jungle road, with all the sticks and trees lying there.

damn, anthracite heater choked last night.

I hate cleaning it out and relighting it... but once it's going it's so nice.

I noticed that the wind stole my Weber cover. R600....fuck.

See the fasteners....I struggle to put this thing on.....but the wind got it off.

Anthracite used to burn the entire night in my stove back in the day when I could still get the stuff. But, damn, it made a lot of ash! I had to clean out the ash pan daily. Burning wood in the same stove, the cleanout is weekly. I've found if I burn slightly 'green' wood I can load up the fire at 10pm and my dog still has a cosy warm smile by 5am. The really dry rooikrans just burns away by midnight, leaving a cold house and an unhappy pup by morning.
