I didn't notice any difference in treatment. We were all treated like the lowest form of garbage.
Ah, so they were not so subtly trying to make you despise the SADF and its leaders. I started standard 6 at a school in Komani whose matrics behaved along the same lines. Not so at the one I moved to in East London.

Good moaning, everyone. How eventful were your weekends?

My PC was acting up again this weekend. first, it stopped responding when I was reading stuff online/using CoPilot to generate stories while listening to people speaking on Youtube. This started happening over the past month or so. When I booted up on Saturday, my computer reported that it could not find anything to boot from. [Only my DVD-ROM drive showed up in the BIOS] I powered down and left it for a while, after which my hard drives reappeared. Still had some freezing after that. I am fortunate in that [courtesy of my brother] I have a laptop to fall back on.

sounds like the spinning drives are giving up the ghost.
I recommend backing up documents to the cloud and investing in a small SSD for a boot drive. you can pick them up for very cheap now.
if you already have an SSD boot drive then it sounds like mother board is packing up thanks to load shedding.

so in the story of sexual tension between the 4 of us things really escalated this weekend.
we all knew it would, it has been building over weeks and weeks. and nature has prevented the escalation for the past two weeks. but this weekend was clear and there was no shark week anywhere.
it was a full blown swap weekend. we slept in seperate rooms. couples fooled around that were not the ones who were married.
there were a few more "public" things that happend all around. and even when nothing sexual was happening after there was no awkward feelings anywhere. everyone is ok with this new direction, and it feels like there is no risk to the friendship. everyone understands that if one of the 3 of us is not comfortable and asks for it to stop it will.
still keeping this a small secret from my GF, because she will not be included in play time sadly.
unfortunately we have 2 weeks that are fully planned coming up where nothing more will happen. but then it is December and things might go further when we are on leave and no work interruptions...

Hi.

It is an SSD I boot from. Motherboard is a veteran [Intel Z77], so might not be surprising.
I usually unplug everything in my room before loadshedding.

I do have reserves I can draw from for things such as replacing computer hardware.

It's been a year of realism. Turning 55 and have no savings. Living in a nice house that we've paid half of but new bond is 20 years. So I'll be 75 when it's paid off? With no savings! No fuck that shit this isn't working. Move to a decent but affordable place, reduce debt dramatically, start saving.

I don't even know if I'll make it to 75, not even considering the working until then. Christ.
Yeah, that is pretty shit.
Then I also think it's best. I think you mentioned paying new place off over 3 years.

Start by paying off your highest % interest debt first. That won't be the bond. Credit cards and loans have much higher interest rate charges. Then work your way down until just the bond remains. Then work on bringing that down.

If you have discipline you pay RX (x is what you deem reasonable to pay on your credit card) every month. Then put your R F food money on the card as well
But!!! With that you need to be strict, keep track of in vs spent. Do not spend more.

You then created "new debt" in the eyes of the bank. But you've actually paid it off. As the banks typically give 55 days before charging interest your money can then work for you.
DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU STRUGGLE TO BE STRICT WITH YOURSELF. Coz if done wrong, it could easily make you pay even more interest.

We spend around R6k for 2 people's food only in a month. This does not include cleaning supplies. Depending what we want to eat. That's around R6k you are not paying interest on, but you've already put in the R6k. (This will include most of my meals, but mr eats at work and doesn't take food, so the R6k excludes what he buys at work.

I spent 5 (five) hours at a play park in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town yesterday.

Thank god they have a small bar just off site so I could down two beers at lunch.

It is Bugz, which is a really fun place for the 6-8 year range, which fits my kids.

If you ever need something to do with kids 3-12 years, this is it. Cheap (well, compared to other play parks) at R160 p/p and no time limits. And they have a bar.

Did I mention the bar? They have a bar.

maybe have the mobo tested. sometimes post LS surges can damage the PSU that can then lead to shorts on the mobo or shorting the SATA power cables to the HDD.
friend lost a mobo and 2 HDD because of a post LS surge that damaged his PSU.

Did you play?
There is no point in golf unless you take the following suggestions.

First: dress preppy. Wear a polo shirt, long shorts and pull your socks up high. This is how you get allowed onto the course. Alternatively, walk on and start at the second hole.

Second: and this is the real secret. You do not need any golf clubs aside from a wood, an iron, a sand-wedge and a putter. All the rest is worthless baggage.

Third: now you have space in your golf bag, fill it with beer. Walking around hitting little white balls is thirsty work.

Fourth (optional, but recommended): replace one of the beers filling your bag with a bong. It makes for a much better swing.

Golf, Golf courses and anything golf related is a giant waste of space.
FFS the aim of the game is to play less of it. the less you play the better you are? WTF kind of rule is that?!
the grass needs to be special grass?
water wasted to make the grass green even in a drought?
entry fee to enter a green space?
golf is for cunts who want to feel more special than others. it is litrally just a way for rich people to "flex" on poor people.

And before people bitch. I'm aware that is a lot of money, but I eat 5 times a day. Coz I need to stay healthy. It's also how I prevent weight gain.

If I don't force that then I would only eat 2 to 3 meals a WEEK. Which then causes awful levels of weight gain. I've been shat on by both the GP and the biokineticist. It took almost 4 weeks of 5 meals a day before I was hungry before breakfast. Dinner 18:00. Breakfast 08:00. It took about another 3 weeks before I was hungry between the other meals. I also eat protein with every meal, be it eggs, chicken, tuna, beef steak, pork fillet etc. In a day I would have 1 meal with salad, 1 meal containing fruit. 1 meal containing veg.

As both the GP and the biokineticist told me - I had eaten badly for so long that my body just didn't know when to expect food, and as I wasn't eating for a variety of reasons my body just didn't ask for food and in general I've always only eaten when hungry.
So yes I gained weight coz my body tried to hold onto any food value it could find. So where other people need to avoid food to lose weight I needed to eat food to lose weight. I'm pretty much were I need to be so now eat for maintenance.

My next meal is in about 30min. Today that's salad and a tin of tuna. Lettuce quantity - about what goes into a small lettuce bag, plus things like a tomato, green pepper, carrot etc.

I am both lactose and gluten intolerant, so most people won't eat the way I do.

How did I end up there (bad eating habit and weight). Easy between stress unhappiness, frustration etc etc I didn't feel hungry. If I'm not hungry, I didn't eat. Over a few years it added up. I did drink a lot of water, but not so much food. A meal would fit on a side plate. If I cooked for others I would spit out food I was tasting if I wasn't hungry.

I was also told that my body will easily revert back o the old bad habits if I'm not disciplined enough with myself, so eat I shall.
And it's pissing off mr coz he's paying for most of the food. Says I'm too food oriented. I will not say that I'm not. I do carry food in my bag if he wants us to go somewhere, not for a meal.

It's all a matter of perspective. Define a good lifestyle - your definition will differ from the next person. Same goes for "what is important".
Many people throw their future away because of the way they live right now, to the brim of their means or above their means. Not all Fortuner drivers can actually afford the Fortuner...you get what I mean?
Be sensible
LoL,
While we live in a house in a nice area it only has 3 bedrooms. We do not need more. Also don't have a pool. If looking at prices of houses in our area we own the smallest hour on the nicest street in a nice area. Our house is valued at about R1mil less than the next cheapest house. We could have bought for double what we did buy for. But why max out credit. The credit cards are locked in the safe. Besides the fact that there is the bond and municipal charges, we have a few policies, cellphone (I use it for work, don't have an office number.), we each have a clothing account - we buy then pay it straight after. Builds a credit record, but other than that no accounts or credit.
The car I'm driving was bought with the insurance pay out after the mechanic dropped my car off his hoist lift (be that human error or mechanical failure.). I didn't buy new, but the current car is newer than the old car.

So yeah we could get more debt, but we'd end up in trouble if interest rates go up. So no thanks.
