What is your opinion on the Simulation Hypothesis?

I've been surprised that it's got backling from Elon Musk and while he has not endorsed it, Neil DeGrasse Tyson has said that it should not be discounted.

The truth is that we are unlikely to ever findout whether it is true or not unless the creator civilization decide to turn it off or contact us but do you think it's plausible or akin to the UFO conpiracy theories?

Exactly my response to whether there is a god and this simulation question is really one and the same.

It questions how/why we exist and at the end of the day as per your conclusion it’s utterly inconsequential just like the concept of god.
