There are many theories and explanations with regard to what happened.
In my opinion, the likely outcome was pilot suicide with the plane having crashed into thousands of pieces after crashing into the ocean. They might uncover fragments of the aircraft and perhaps belongings of those lost but it is unlikely that any remains will be found.
I do think that the Malaysian Authorities know a lot more than we think and are just not saying anything to cover up their own failings.
