Since I'm new here not sure how many use usenet but it's still around and I think now cheaper than ever.

Afrihost has their own free usenet server: news.afrihost.com

I got gatvol of broken downloads though that was back in 2015, I switched to a seedbox (Justseed.it) back then.

Usenet is great to find older unseeded stuff, torrents are great for new stuff.

Yeah back then public torrents were slooooooooooooooooooooow but now most of the world including has fibre with fast uploaders so that is a real plus point. Most of my downloads on public torrents are fast and there are quite a lot of South African peers too which is nice. I was downloading a torrent on rarbg and one person on Cipherwave was seeding to me over 13MB/s so that was nice to see.
