Just FYI, I turn off the @tag mention thing so you wasted 2 minutes of your life there...

Someone please explain why the Android key chain for passwords is so shit. On iOS I can go to a site I last visited on an iPhone 6s 4 years ago and it remembers the login and password, the fucking dumb android can't even remember the password on a site I visited last week and clicked YES on the prompt to save password

Generally works fine for me?
As an aside, self-hosted:

Passman: https://github.com/nextcloud/passman or
Bitwarden: https://github.com/bitwarden/server
(Sorry, I meant vaultwarden, previously bitwarden_rs: https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden you can use bitwarden's clients for it)

Both can be run on a Google F1 micro or something like that for R60pm, I have some other things hosted on it as well so it's just the effort of updating the docker image when a new version comes out and making sure backups are running (using Bitwarden).

If you have to pay, might as well get LastPass Premium for $3/month then.

Already have a server so why not make use of it? :p
Intending at one point to move it from South Africa to Vienna, and then put home assistant on it as well, have master/slave set-up so can have one instance at apartment, one at house, and then one in cloud orchestrating, and local stuff like lights etc. will all be locally managed yet still have remote access for both.

I'm leery of letting my computer remember my passwords.

Why? You worried Google will log in and post on your behalf?

I have so many different passwords I would need to carry a book if I wrote them all down.

I have recently started to use the same password with unique extra digits for each password now in an effort to make them slightly more memorable.

All I wish is for Apple keychain to also work on Android.
