SA 2024 Election and the Rand

I'm optimistic that there will be a huge change in our politics this year that will cause the Rand to increase in value dramatically. Going by the Big Mac index alone we should be around R10:$ or better.

What's your outlook?

My outlook is same old same old.

To be fair, I’ve distanced myself from news to a large extent, but I’m not feeling that there’s enough of a groundswell to boot the ANC out. I suspect that they’ll lose some seats, to the EFF and the DA, but I don’t see them losing the majority by enough that they can’t keep going, even if it’s with a coalition with a small party or two.

Getting rid of the ANC will have to be by force... unfortunately. They won't let go of their feeding troughs and thieving opportunities easily.
So that means, stuff like civil war, coups, takeovers will be needed to get rid of them.... nobody has the balls....

I think the only things that will happen post election is we will get Stage 6 LS, and then towards year end we will taste Stage 7 or 8 for the first time
