Terror by Night (1946)

An early Sherlock Holmes movie. I have never seen Dr Watson portrayed as a buffoon in a serious movie. The speeding train "special effect" was laudable but I guess it was that time in cinematography. The performance of the actor playing the murderer must be one of the worst I have ever seen. 4/10

Edit: Couldn't sleep last night and watched this movie at 3am.

Tár (2022)

An Oscar-winning performance (surely?) by Cate Blanchett of a narcissistic power-hungry musician/conductor that gets
her comeuppance
. The scenes are just so perfect. 8/10

The Wonder (2022)

The first minute and last few seconds of this movie should have been cut, it almost prevented me from enjoying the actual story. Other than that it is quite an enjoyable tale. 7/10

Vesper - really enjoyed it. The effects and sets were brilliantly done. I kind of feel it needed to be a lot longer though, 3 hours plus. The story doesn't really culminate anywhere and that's perhaps where the feature film fails. If this was the pilot to a series, It would have had me hook, line and sinker... but just as you really getting into it, it ends.... still a worthwhile watch, it has a very well manufactured bleakness...

7.4/10

You People (2023)

Jonah Hill took me on a ride of comedy, wokeness, drama, romance, and different views of racism. Eddie Murphy is fantastic in this role, no forced comedy from this character. 6/10

The Banker (2020)

Outstanding performances by Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson. On paper, the description of the movie seemed dry and boring but it turned out to be very entertaining and insightful. 8/10

Next Door (2021)

German language. Don't piss off your neighbour. Daniel Brühl directs and acts (pathetic actor-role) in this thrilling and sometimes funny movie. The more I see /of Peter Kurth, the more I enjoy his roles. 7/10

X (2022)

This comes off as a "Tarantino style" attempt. The biggest horror was watching 80-90-year-olds have sex. 5/10

Action movie about two Canadian detectives. Lethal Weapon style.

Would have scored higher if I were a big fan of action detective movies.

6/10

Bon Cop, Bad Cop 2 is out too.
