A Christmas morning explosion that rocked downtown Nashville, injuring at least three people and damaging dozens of buildings, is believed to be an intentional act, authorities said.

Significant AT&T building means both a federal data access point (if not a CIA or NSA facility) and a "5G tower" makes it probable that some trumpist moron going after the "deep state" and related conspiracy theory bullshit is behind this terrorism.

Basically other than a named post office building housing federal institutions or a federal plaza the largest telephone exchange building in any given US city is your prime domestic terrorism target in the US. So this smells very odorous.

Yanks don't like using the term when "domestic" needs to precede it
They kept on reporting they think it’s “intentional” last night. Erm, it’s a fucking huge bomb, of course it’s “intentional”, morons. What a joke. Have they changed their tune yet?

The term counter-terrorism seems to be used freely to refer to law enforcement and investigative resources. Give it a day or so.

Reporting that the bomb was further from the AT&T building is peculiar and possibility that cops were the target is being overplayed.

Maybe waiting for amount of traffic and people to dissipate?
Xmas morning 1-6 am has no traffic. He also fired a weapon repeatedly to wake people up then had a speaker telling people to evacuate for 15-30 minutes (unsure how long). He didn't want any people to die imo.

Still terrorism by any definition.

Nobody died, only 3 people with minor injuries.

Strange kind of terrorism. Usually the culprit/s pull into a crowded area to injure/kill as many people as possible. There's a lot of questions surrounding this act.

Apparently he played Petulia Clarke's Downtown song from the vehicle.

Agreed. Still a big ass bomb that destroyed many buildings.

Is it only terrorism if people die? The Brits call it terrorism if a Muslim stabs two people (not even dying).

Not saying it's not terrorism, only that it's strange.

Apparently 41 buildings were damaged. Maybe one of them was the target.

Probably the AT&T exchange (which includes FBI and CIA taps).

Probably a MAGA QAnon supporter attacking the "deep state". Murica!

not strange at all. The purpose of a terrorist act is to induce a fear that makes a political statement. Several terrorist campaigns have targeted infrastructure and military or law enforcement targets while avoiding civilian casualties. A bomb detonating in an affluent shopping centre scares people but if the blast kills bystanders it enrages them. The provisional IRA learnt this with Harrods. The ANC tried a campaign of terrorism that would limit life loss.

This explosion affects the way AT&T perform network rollout planning - its goal is to deter 5G rollout. Its been

I strongly suspect that this is not a lone wolf loon but rather an orchestrated action in which somebody manipulated the crazy. Most of the big telco exchange premises form part of US signals intelligence and sensitive communications exchange. The blast was at 2nd avenue where it knocked out communications including from the AT&T Tower a couple of hundred meters away which is Nashville's tallest building - the message of being able to blow it up is thus conveyed - and the federal buildings about a mile away on Broadway as well as the county government (in the most anti-Trump county in the strongly red state). So its a perfect target to convey a message of "white power" against the "forces of globalism" and the "deep state" and all that other bullshit.
O and there is a male strip club in the vicinity ...
