This is from their last week's report, going to post here since relevant:

That 32.21% was a week ago, they've hit 16.6GW outage today, their "planned" is at 7.2GW not 6.2GW, so 4.6GW is missing.

Interesting to note that renewables are starting to pick up slack, but September should not be a good month for installed renewable based on historic trends (there's ~6.2GW installed capacity fo CSP, PV, and Wind):

An ex-colleague told me at the last big load-shedding (a year or so baclk) that he was buying a petrol generator. I asked him a few days back how was it going and he responded "I have never used it."

His reason: It would disturb the neighbours.

So why buy it.

My Telkom LTE now dies after one hour even though it shows full signal. Switch to Cell C and it works again.

Interesting how Eskom added back 1.5GW net about, yet only Stage 6 -> 5, and unplanned outages went even higher, yes they're trying to reduce emergency reserves as diesel is quite expensive (and they need the extra in case of a spike in demand to keep system stable).
There was supposed to be 3.5GW back or something like that, by Sunday evening/Monday based on one of their other articles.

This is the Eskom one, in case you want to read "reasoning".
