Deaf and/or not monitored....got it.
Not everyone knows that some alarm systems activate if the battery is dead when power returns. I suspect these are quite old alarm systems, don't think newer alarm systems do that anymore. They probably think it's normal?

When mine gets old it sends a message to ADT who then sends me an sms that the battery needs replacing.

Hopefully I don't hear it on the 14th floor of the Gardens Centre... ;)

Have you tried to leave a note?

Residents seem to be on top of it either replacing their batteries or figuring out that leaving it off solves the problem.

Often the battery is fine but the repeated load sheds means it doesn’t fully charge back up again.

My problem is some or other fucking business just within faint earshot where it keeps going all fucking night when the power comes back on.

My battery is 100% but with the multiple cuts in one day it runs flat if the timing is kak.

Annoyingly it doesn’t trip when the power comes back on but like an hour later.

Oy be nice to us. My battery is 4 months old and we have that problem. Load shedding has destroyed it. 1h40 min into loadshedding it goes off. So now, I have to set an alarm - let's say 3:30 - so I can wake up and put off the alarm. And then we are vulnerable. So I sometimes cannot go back to sleep.

The Alarm company sent out an email saying that it takes 8 hours for the battery to fully charge. We have 4 or 6 hours between loadshedding. So really have some understanding. Perhaps some people have not worked out that you need to put if off before the battery dies.

I still think there is something wrong in your system, either too high draw or a bad battery installed (not meeting needed spec).

Probably also not a LiPo battery, so the repeated over 50% dischharge destroyed its cycles, can easily be done within the four months.

As I said before, do bother that one son of yours and see if he can help you figure it out.;)

My sons know nothing about electronics or fixing things. Usually, boys have a dad that shows them a few things. Theirs had no idea. So I will wait till my brother comes around - my dad showed him a few things - besides - he was a tech teacher at a high school.

Erm, I figured out most of the stuff on my own? There's Google as well.
