I find it ridiculous that schools are closed, but the parents still go to work, mix with thousands of people, and then go home to their tykes in plastic bubbles.

I might not get back in the country if Myanmar or Singapore become high risk before I fly home in May :erm:

I think we're overdoing this global anti-Corona effort . This virus is here to stay like H1N1 did back ina day.

As a country we are going to fuckup this economy in a big way. The losses on so many levels will be impossible to calculate.
Theoretically the losses will be less if we could hurdle the vulnerable together in a protected environment (financed by the tax payer of course)

The rest of us will survive anyway

Pic from a Makro yesterday, that’s just to get in. Glad I saw the writing on the wall a month ago.

What happened?
Started getting sick on Sunday, no serious symptoms as yet, was asked by the office to please work from home for the next 14 days.
One of my colleagues came from Germany for work on Thursday and was in the office on Friday. Just a precaution

New Evidence Shows How COVID-19 Has Affected Global Air Pollution

The COVID-19 pandemic is getting more overwhelming by the day, with increasing lockdowns, a death toll of more than 7,000 people across the world, and a direct hit to the global economy.

But if there's a sliver of good news, it's about how the spread of the new coronavirus has been decreasing air pollution, and possibly even saving lives in the process.
Back on March 8, Stanford University environmental resource economist Marshall Burke did some back-of-the-envelope calculations about the recent air pollution drop over parts of China and potential lives saved, posting it on a global food, environment and economic dynamics blog, G-FEED.

Housemate is a bit of a hypochondriac, so I got a digital thermometer yesterday. Used it today when she claims to have a bit of a fever, 36.8C, NORMAL, bam!

Well, you have to take the incubation period in consideration and the flu like symptoms, better to just be careful

I went to Dischem to get surgical gloves (not related to Corona) and there was a crowd milling about the shelves. There was a sign, "Limit 2 boxes per client."

WTF, people are losing their minds.

Yes they are. Can't find: gloves, sanitiser, masks, isopropyl alcohol, alcohol wipes, thermometers etc. Even toilet paper, meat, dry food like pasta and rice are selling out in places.

Managed to find 5L Isopropyl Alcohol online, will need to share with my family that hasn't been able to find anything. My mother is 84 and lives with my sister with her two teenage sons that go to university and school. So she is at high risk.

You need to get a gel like Aloe Vera to mix with the alcohol or it's harsh on the skin.

A local tourism meeting has been cancelled, I find the comment interesting...

Dear WCBCF members

At this stage we have made a judgement call to rather cancel the tourism meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

1. We have in excess of 100 businesses wanting to attend.
2. A number of our members have been traveling overseas and most of us have been contact with foreign
guests...

Guess who is in isolation
Btw, would be interesting if you started a "Diary of an Coronovirus patient" or something to that effect. You need to post how you feel each day starting from the suspected infection date (so we can get a sense of incubation, duration).
