Daniil Kvyat, the former Formula 1 driver, is set to participate in the inaugural Abu Dhabi Autonomous Race League at the Yas Marina circuit this weekend.
This marks a historic moment in motorsport as it will be the first time a race is led by Artificial Intelligence. Kvyat will go head-to-head against AI-driven cars, showcasing a unique test of man versus machine. The league aims to spotlight the capabilities of AI in motorsport and has brought together a team of engineers, scientists, and Kvyat himself to transform a cutting-edge racing car into a machine with its own mind.
The participating teams hail from seven countries - the United Arab Emirates, China, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Singapore, and the United States - and will all compete using the modified EVA24 car, based on the Dallara chassis with a 2.0-liter, 550-horsepower Honda turbo engine, and a six-speed gearbox.
