I gave this a long hard thought and the movie that really drained me emotionally and had a profound effect on my life is Once were Warriors.

When I walked out of the cinema I could not speak for at least an hour.

Also don't take a girl to see this on a first date.

Ja, the Redux. Best movie ever and based on Conrad's Heart of Darkness.
Amazing movie and incredible book.

If you love animals, don't watch Apocalypse Now. That one scene scarred me for life, as it is REAL. It's a great movie, but that scene ruined it for me.
