When we had the windows changed we opted for a window panel that swings fully open, it leaves a 1m x 1m size opening.

I have two left, after they go I'm not getting pets again. It's too painful. Lost 6 in 10 years.

Edit: which means I have to go through this again two more times. I don't feel this much for my own family.

You could always be the big guy that volunteers at the local shelter and got love the animals there....

After our last dog went I said the same, them my flippin daughter went out and spent a stupid amount of money on a puppy which is now living with us because her house purchase is delayed.
