But I noticed that a couple of people were also coming in, looking at the closed shop(s) then turn around and leave.

Yeah, it was but people were spaced quite nicely. We sat inside at a high table near the back. Pretty secluded.
But the town is packed today. Just walked the dog around Vermont and lots of people around, beaching and braaing already.
