I finally got onto a scale a few days ago and it confirmed my weight gain in one year... 9 kgs up .... 69kgs (nice number I know but I preferred the 60 last January)

need to control the chocolates and sweets...

I gained 9 during 2020. Lost it all since and more. Just have to decide what you want and go for it.

Today I'm wearing pants I couldn't for the past few years. Not even the new CUM pants, and older G-Star pair I used to love.

Funnliy enough I've been dreaming of my ex from 25 years ago, the one at the market, since I decided to go say hello when I'm at my target weight. She's pretty hot and no way was I going to say hello while pudgy. Guess my brain is using it as symbolism or something. Interesting.

Proof it were needed that men are driven by a brain in a different location

I was 97 on Friday, 1.5 down and then proceeded to stuff it up by cheating three days in a row. So quite happy to have any loss at all.

I also managed to lose 1.5 kgs through the week and put on 1kg over the weekend. So also pretty pleased to lose anything at all. Man I need to stop this shit. I was so hungover yesterday I never left the couch except to go to the fridge. So never mind Saturday, as well as the beer, wine, whisky, two burgers and chips yesterday, I even had 3 fucking doughnuts.

Still feeling a bit shaky sitting here today 😬

Due to a cat being operated on Monday and not being able to focus on my work when they are in for a procedure, and having to baby sit the punch dunk cat locked in my study all evening, this week is a cheat week. Will try to maintain, that's the best I can do this week. Back on the wagon from Sunday.

Good result considering you knew you weren’t being so focused this week.

I had a bit of an odd morning and forgot to weigh as part of my routine. I’ll do it tomorrow instead.

Definitely gonna lose weight here in the UK.

Don't have a scale handy - but I'm living in a room on the 3rd floor of a townhouse. Loads of stairclimbing happening!

Also getting into a routine of walking a couple of miles every morning before breakfast...

How many years have you been doing that? Did that ever work for fanie?
It works extremely well for me, when I can stick to it. I lost 20kg or more in 7 months before. However, it's very hard to stick to if the people around you are not also doing it.
My hosts here are very happy to adapt their meals to low carb, so it's going to go well.

And that's the problem with most of our diets, maintaining when you get to your target. But I have a plan this time. Going to stick with fitchef.co.za food. Get it delivered once a month. They don't have any additives, sugar, preservatives, colourants etc and it's always a balanced meal. They promise you won't be hungry and in my experience that has turned out true. For now I have a smoothie for lunch and a meal for dinner. When I reach target I'll probably drop the smoothie and have a sandwich or whatever I find in town for lunch but keep on having their meals for dinner. I find it better than Woolworths.

They even do the keto/low-carb thing:

Maintaining was fine too until I moved into a household with young kids where there were always chips and bread and sweets and crap like that...

Easy to maintain if you're the one doing the shopping etc. Just don't buy the crap. When my wife gets here and doesn't recognise me because I've dropped 10kg, then I'm sure I'll get full buy-in. Also, in SA we did a lot of entertaining which always included snacks, chips etc. I just didn't have the willpower. Here, it won't be the same I reckon.
