That's the problem I have with my old cars, the tread is hardly worn but they have perished and not safe to use.

With the everyday cars it's not an issue, I do about 6k a month between them.
Not sure I asked before, what do you do?

It’s a distinct possibility…

Did you grow up in the south? We lived in Mondeor almost all of my childhood.
Hopefully we remain young at heart.

Lived in a few places after settling in SA, namely Vereeniging and Joburg.

I am a mechanic for the most part. I specialize in truck air brakes and do fleet maintenance for a few companies on their trucks.
But I also do other things, strange jobs seem to find me.

And the old cars?

In what condition are yours?
The Lloyd has been completely rebuilt and is probably a shade under concours condition. The station wagon is an original car in a fairly reasonable condition, we have given it a respray though.
The project sedan has good fundamentals but looks like a wreck.

Are you a member of an old car club? Saw quite a few around Melkbos.

Yes, of the Borgward club here in ZA and then the Goliath club in Germany.

Covid has done a number on the old car meets but they are slowly starting to open up again.
We are planning a fairly large get together around the George motor show next year with all the members from the Cape, Gauteng and the rest of the country. Should be a nice trip.
