I think it is really hard to judge if someone is worth talking to from a photo. If you liked more than 100 people - there must be plenty of pretty or attractive people on the app too. Perhaps the normal ones aren't as many as you think?

Does Hinge allow you to introduce yourself to someone who appeals to you rather than to click "Like" on their pictures? How substantial are written profiles?

Seems a like is the only way, for men anyway. You have to answer a few questions from a list of questions, that is mixed with your photos. I prefer this interface over Tinder and Bumble.

That's a pity. It would be helpful if users [men and women] were able to begin a conversation with someone based around what they say in their profile rather than clicking and hoping. Some integration with [or a fun social hangout addition to Hinge] a service where users could talk about whatever interests them and become familiar with each other without the pressure or risks associated with approaching each other with dating in mind might make some feel more comfortable. Just messaging someone out of the blue can be intimidating.
