Not consumer tech, but they're piloting litter cameras in a town here.
Uses ai tech to identify litter being thrown out of a car, records your number plate and issues an automatic fine

Except the council is being a bit too cocky, they don’t currently have the power to compel the car owner to identify the driver or passenger who littered, the law specifically gives that power to the Environment Agency but a High Court case ruled it doesn’t extend to councils, councils can only require details and give fines in face to face situations.

So, the council writes to Mr C.A.R Owner and asks them to identify the person who was in the car, Mr Owner tells them to sod off, that’s the end of the line.

Not new tech, but new to me.

Bought myself an Oculus Quest 2 to help entertain myself in this prison cell, and because it's like 1/3rd the price you pay in SA (WTF?!?) and got hold of Beat Saber because I have heard from some friends that it can give you a bit of a workout in a confined space while entertaining you.

Holy shit they weren't kidding.

The immersive videos are also pretty damn epic.

Yes, you get immersive porn too.
