Hi guys and ladies

My 10 year old Samsung Syncmaster 23 has given up the ghost.

now I need a new screen - my housemate has offered to put it on his flexi credit account and I’ll be paying him off, he told me to get the best one and we will spread the cost. I just don’t want to end up owing him too much so let’s keep it practical and realistic.

Ideally I want one functional for gaming, streaming and studies. And. 10 years is a long time for a screen, I want another Samsung screen close to size as my old one, maybe slightly bigger.

we’re using Curry’s PC world online and I have a few options for Samsung

my first option - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/compu...ull-hd-24-led-monitor-black-10198978-pdt.html

or pay a little more and go for this one

Yeah I had a faulty panel replaced just short of its 3 year warranty and it was a common fault with a black line across the screen.

it was so worth paying R1800 in 2009

Nice, yeah I paid R2000 in 2010
It has served me very well over these years and I am still gaming on it
But its old tech so I am looking forward to a newer tech screen soon
Something brighter, coz im struggling in my old age in the dark scenes in games like Skyrim etc

Lol me too. I need my eyes tested at some point as I probably need glasses now.

There you go:

It will be a nice upgrade
If i could afford it, I’d take that one but already ordered the 27” one. Then I must work out payment instalments - housemate said to pay what I can afford.

I get £190.62 a week and pay £400 rent a month then there’s my essentials like food. Going to have to do a serious cutback til I pay him off.

Yikes, when I left IBM in April 2000 I was on £21 per hr working a 35hr week minimum. There was always overtime as well.
Yeah take it easy on the expenses there, every penny counts (y)

HD (1080p) on 27" isn't worth it. 24" HD (1080p) or 27" QHD (1440p).

I have both.
