How much is your medical or hospital plan?

I've had a Discovery hospital plan (coastal core) for 20+ years, I get little value from it. It's now up to R2,700!

We are also now with Discovery after the Resolution health crooks stole all the money.
I will say that I feel like I'm getting less value from Discovery compared to Resolution and the fact that they still put us on a waiting period, despite Resolution going insolvent with no warning doesn't sit well with me.

However they do seem to be the best of a bad lot.
Not sure what the plan is called but we pay just under R8k for two adults and a teen ATM.

I am with Discovery with ZERO savings because it's a false economy imho.

Also manage my own "savings" account, that was one part of Discovery that didn't make any sense to me.

So we took the saving from Resolution's cost and put it into a separate account, earns interest and I can choose how to spend it.
Not that we have touched a cent, the balance is also growing quite nicely.

All that was 2021-2024

If you never need the hospital, then you are fine. Just keep checking the magic eight ball.
