The biggest problem about social media, specifically Instagram is that it causes people to compare themselves and flaunt their lifestyles.

I'll admit I've felt a bit jealous in the past when looking at ex colleagues who've managed to land themselves nice jobs abroad with relatively little work but then I just remember that these people to have their own problems and in all probability, are not as happy as they present themselves out to be.

They too are looking for validation by trying to show how great their lives are.

With teenagers the desire to fit in is much more.
