Mock the Roman Catholics (more)
One theory of the origin of the phrase "hocus pocus" - initially used by conjurers and magicians, similarly to "abracadbra", is that it is a corruption of the Latin Catholic Eucharist, which contains the phrase "Hoc est enim corpus meum", meaning "This is my body".

Now the phrase usually means "nonsense".

Magenta has no physical wavelength. It thus does not "exist" strictly speaking. Rather our brains are telling us that we are seeing "not green".

Insect sex is wild. For instance, the penis of bed bugs is used basically as a knife. They'll stab the female with it, anywhere they can, in the head, in the abdomen, whatever. Then they ejaculate directly into the female's blood (or rather hemolymph, as insects don't have actual blood) in hope the sperm finds its way from there. It's called "traumatic insemination". In dense populations of bed bugs, females will die just from getting repeatedly stabbed in the head and body by penises. Some males too cause bed bugs aren't always good at distinguishing males from females.

Today, I learned that sea urchins have tentacles. My 4 yr old son found one in a tidal pool and brought it to us to see.

We dropped it into a shallow pool... and suddenly it extended a load of "tube feet" which are hydraulic tentacle-like appendages that allow it to move. I thought they attached to a rock and never moved again.

But the more interesting fact: sea urchins also use these tentacles to see.

The first imaging satellites used to drop film from space which was either caught by aircraft or recovered in the ocean. Check out the Corona space program.
