Ethics / morality and the dichotomy between left and right ideologies.

A debate on the ethical / moral dichotomy that exists between the left and right ideologies -- how far we go down this rabbit hole is really up to where the discussion leads. As requested by @biometrics -- this is going to be initially a "baby step" discourse; not quite what a 5 year would understand; but it will cover some of what parents teach their kids and how that relates to the aforementioned dichotomy.

I suggest that anyone who is prone to being easily triggered by this type of contentious discourse; avoid this thread
-- or at minimum try to stay on topic and avoid personal attacks.

I'll post an opening argument later today; it's going to be as mentioned a "baby step" type approach, i.e. one cornerstone dichotomy at a time.

I can't see why leftists or right-wing supporters can't have similar ethics or morals. We are talking about humans, so some have it and others don't. It has nothing to do with their political stance.

This is just like saying Christians hold the monopoly on moral codes and atheists and other religions do not have morals. That is stupid. If you look up the meaning of the word, it relates to standards of behaviour, principles of right and wrong. It has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. And you need to clarify - left and right ideologies from which country ? Right ideology in Russia, China, South Africa, USA, UK are definitely not the same thing.

One would argue that Rightwing opinion on abortion in the US conflicts with the rightwing opinion in China. There they have state forced abortions still today. So you do actually need to specify which rightwing ideology you are referring to.

I still want to know why we are called leftie communist marxists, and what it actually means? Is it an insult, I don't know. Wasn't much into history, so the marxist part is a mystery as I have no idea what it means. The other two attributes I can guess but I doubt the communist part matches me though some state socialism I'd say is a good thing. The leftie part would depend on where in the world you are I guess.
