The Pretoria High Court has heard that in the winter of 2008, behind a hostage situation in the Badplaas police station and a violent protest outside the Nkomazi Wilderness nature reserve, the spectre of David Dabede Mabuza loomed large. Despite the best attempts of the deputy president’s counsel to quash the evidence, the court also heard testimony that linked these events to massive land claims fraud, with the findings of investigator Paul O’Sullivan laying out the paper trail.

...
A good read, tells of how the current "deputy president" got rich from faking land claims and how they keep Stalingrading the trials so that accusers run out of money, only two witnesses were able to testify due to "technical difficulties" out of dozens. Only those two are more than enough that Hawks etc. should have investigated (and again, another reason the Scorpions were disbanded, still waiting for them to be reimplemented since 2011 as was supposed to be within 18 months of that ruling and is "now" "being reviewed" by Cele back in 2019).

Sorry for the added comment in the OP, think it's all relevant to the story and backdrop.

Been following this. Judge said even though time is running out he'd like to see it to the end. So the Stallingrad tactics isn't going to work. Mabuza is in big trouble.

Even if the judge says that, the lawyers need to be paid.
