I won games with Chess.com and Chess Free but I wanted something with a nice 3D look and got Real Chess 3D and got trashed on beginner level. I'm not careful enough... I'll beat this level still though.

Yes. If you rotate the board the animation shows how the shadows move:

I don't have a Mac. Been tempted but always stop before purchasing it. I have a lot of computers, tablets and phones. What will I do with more?

We had a Mac late 90's, think it was running OS 7 or 8.

7.6 - the strongest OS I ever used.
8.1 was just as good.
8.6 was pretty solid too.

In the late 90s I would expect 7.5 onwards and if it was a powerpc then an upgrade to 8.1 at least. In fact, some of our late 90s macs I am sure had 8.1

Was PowerPC I think, looked like this, housemate ran Photoshop etc. Was easy to add to my Windows LAN which shared a dial up connection. Even had a Mac and PC compatible printer and scanner.
