Can confirm this works. Granules are small, right size for Cape house ants. Nip-it are too large.

Hmmm do you have aphids on both? Usually ants on your plants mean a presence of aphids - they collect the aphids to feed the colony

Ants look after and farm with aphids. They are used as livestock. They move them around as required. The aphids suck the plant juice and pee or poo our a secretion the ants collect. So kinda like milking cows.
