If I can put it in a container the ants can get to but not my cats that would work for me.

So called ant traps. I have used them over the years. You break off three tabs and put a brick on it. Has syrup the ants take into their nest.

At best it reduced them some, never gets rid of them. It's also quite expensive for what it does.

Going to try Nip-it. Just need to find a container and make holes in it. Don't want to toss it everywhere.

Going to get this, same ingredient as Nip-it but it comes with bait stations which you can leave out for days.

See above, getting that. From the pic it looks like the granules are smaller than Nip-it (same active ingredient). Think the Cape home ants are too small.

You said safe and kill ants. Don't think you get something like that. Nip-It works for a while but then the ants come back. Also don't know if it really kills the nest as claimed.
