I find this quite amazing, I presume a holdover from WW2, the Royal Navy drive their ship to the far end of a Scottish loch in order to load munitions before leaving on a cruise. Right in the middle of nowhere but forests and mountains.

No, this is not photoshop or a disoriented photo. Photographer Vincent TC captured a goose trying to land with lots of headwinds, in the Netherlands.

It is a new boat. The British use Harriers that is able to take off vertically.
