When I was in Saudi a couple of years ago the site was about 100 odd km's from our hotel in the nearest town. We worked out that diesel was so cheap that it was cheaper to keep the office generator running all night than it was to buy a litre of milk every day.

Edit: generator running the fridge obviously :p

That does not surprise me, the prices of things make no sense sometimes.

It definitely surprised me at how very little my normal life has changed, apart from being mostly in doors during summer.
