Sure, sure, this picture lacks the artistry and composition of the rest of the pics in this thread... and it's a picture of a hole in the ground...

But...

It's a picture of a hole drilled by a robot.

On Mars

And some really, really smart people are going to try to bring that drilled material back to Earth.

Did you notice that the building isn't symmetrical. ;)
It is also, quite strangely, very "shallow" compared to its width. Built apparently to allow the Maharajah's harem and female family to observe the outside world and especially festivals - because they were not allowed out in public.

One of several incredible places and structures in Jaipur. This is another - not my pic as I did not have a working phone the day of my visit - of Jantar Mantar, a set of structures that constituted an observatory, including the world's largest (and hence most accurate) sundial.

Was this a case of nature finding the sun or did man do this ?
So list I got was: combination, mostly sloping stakes right at the beginning, and that roots couldn't grow well under the road due to traffic, and then once a bit taller it was to catch more sun.

Thank you. I thought it might be. If it was trees they would have gone up first and then skew. Well in my head they would do that anyway.
