I, too, have never used this fucking stupidly lazy and self-centered means of communication.I have never used a voice note.
Unless the person is driving or there is something in the audio essential to the message - such as a way of pronouncing words or the like - I strongly dislike voice notes. It just annoys me because it can be time consuming to listen to. I don't mind it once or twice but some people literally send voice notes to every message which is a pet peeve of mine.
There are also some people who are loose cannons and don't stop talking so they give a lot of irrelevant info especially in my line of work.
Now that I think about it, maybe I just get more of these as well since they may suspect I could misrepresent them in some way (people in general don't have trust in media workers unless you get to know them and develop a sense of trust).
I’m sorry but I don’t agree. If you’re not able to type a message you shouldn’t be fiddling with the phone in the first place.Unless the person is driving…
Utterly disagree, typing means I need to look down, voice note I can start when it's safe to do so (e.g. red light) and talk without looking down, my car used to use the mic set up in it and audio was fine while I was looking at the road and talking.I’m sorry but I don’t agree. If you’re not able to type a message you shouldn’t be fiddling with the phone in the first place.
Thanks to you, I see it too nowAm I the only one who sees the word “annoying” in the title as a verb?
You have hands free setups. And because voice notes are one directional they are safer for a person driving than a call. Of course a person undertaking an exchange of reading and replying with voice notes makes no sense but for example the security company patrol beat will put forward a note indicating that they are on the way to a scene or the like. It works like a push to talk walkie environment. The patrolman is able to convey information to whichever person of group.I’m sorry but I don’t agree. If you’re not able to type a message you shouldn’t be fiddling with the phone in the first place.
Yes? You'll notice the term "holding" not "touching" hands free sets and integrated vehicle systems don't entail holding the device.SA law as far as I have it:
Regulation 308A stipulates that motorists may not drive on a public road while holding a mobile phone or any other communication device in one or both hands, or with any other part of the body.
