Not so bad after your hiatus.
Was dieting for six months and doing well. Then got bored and took a week, then another week and eventually it was two months. Then the disaster of August with two sick cats, a sick housemate, then the death of one of the cats and loads of medical expenses (like more than R25k) really broke me. I couldn't even communicate on Sunday being very hungover and in deep hurt for the cat. But we need to move on, doesn't help to kill myself with booze.

Booze might be great at the time, but the next day is a bastard and doesn't make things any better. I've often thought about giving up booze, but no will power and as I said, it's great at the time so I put up with the hangovers and mood dips.

Yeah I don't see myself as giving it up completely. I'm ok with limiting it to weekends though. Housemate gave it up last year and doesn't miss it at all.

So after 3 months of really not looking after myself properly, mainly because where I was living did not have facilities to cook much beyond fast food and the floor being too wonky for the scale, I'm back.
Was around 120 when we moved in here on 31 August.
Now, 116.9 - obviously 2 kg or so of water weight dropping... but early days on this run :D

Mmmm I don't really want to put my starting weight here as I am really embarrassed by it. Much heavier than all of you and I am short - so cannot even blame height and bone structure. Being in hospital was a wake-up call. And the beginning of my weight loss journey.
No idea what I weighed before - or when I came out the first time. But after the second I weighed myself.

I have lost 5kgs so far. It has been 2 weeks. I know that is slow but it took me nearly 30 years to get this size - gonna take a while to go down again.

Just be patient. It’s taken me six months and 19 down. Three to go, so hoping to finish end of this month.

5 in 2 weeks is fast. I find when you are at your peak you loose quickly and it slows down as you approach target.

I have a lot to go - and a lot may be water loss. And the fact that I am moving more now

If you can get used to eating twice a day and no snacking or eating between meals, it’ll fall off fairly consistently.

Thanks - the judgement is from me. I was shocked when I climbed onto the scale. Horrified actually. When you are not paying attention to the world around you - it goes to pot.

Which method are you using? We use different methods. @Sinbad is a banter as he likes to stuff his face. @Spizz is a skip breakfast and vegetarian food type. I'm a skip the alcohol in the week and low kJ food and snacks and skip breakfast type. I don't consume sugar.

Personally I think it's good to a have a cheat day or two a week. It takes so long to lose you need relief from the diet regime for your sanity and to be able to maintain for 6+ months.

I am also intermittent fasting. So I eat brunch (around 11) and dinner, with maybe an egg or some cold meat as a snack around 4pm if I'm peckish.

I am just doing the 3 meals with as little white carbs as possible. Also trying to limit sugar and energy drinks - those are one of my many bad habits.

I’m a bit lost at the moment. Work is so intense and all consuming I’m stuck in meetings all day and feel a need to release with a glass or 5 of wine in the evening.

I guess I’ll find my own way back, but at the moment I’ve got so much on my plate that weight loss seems secondary to my mental health so I’m just rolling with what feels right rather than what is right.

Life’s good guys. Find the balance and enjoy it :)
